  1. OK, I don't want to be trite, but May 20th is NOT Cameroon's independence Day!!! Cameroon was already independent for 12 years, and the British and French Cameroons reunited for 11 years before May 20th was instituted in 1972.

    May 20th (the day when the federal system was replaced by a unitary form of government) is Cameroon's NATIONAL DAY but NOT its INDEPENDENCE DAY

  2. i totally agree with the above comments that May 20th is not Cameroon independence day and if we are giving out the wrong message to the public it simply shows that as Cameroonians we don't know our own history. May 20th is Cameroon National day celebration.
