Hello people..The first Music Thursday post for this year goes to Camer Female Artists..By now you should know that I am obsessed about anything that empowers and uplifts women. I hope at least one female Camer artist makes it big this 2015.

So here are some  of my fav Femcees in Camer Entertainment..Each track has a message..Enjoy!

Askia - No Worry Me
"The sun rise on me..It sets up on my shoulder so you cannot bring me down". Hope to see more of Askia this  year 'cause this chic can rappppp....The lyrics of for this track sef na die oh..lol

Daphne - Reflection
Her reflection EP debut and IFest performance made the Steven's rastafari chic, Daphne one of the rising Camer stars of 2014 on my list. "Time for Reflection feel the breeze of redemption. You no fit get your cake. After you don drop am.Coni man die. Coni man go bury am. You chop alone you go die alone...."

Miss Lena - I day What I day (ft Tom Kingue)
Don't you just love Ms Lena's calm and composed self portrayed in our pictures. It is definitely reflected in her music. And I definitely feeling this track and the choice of artist to collabo was just perfect. "I day what I day..MissLena237"."Unapologetic of what I am cause...."...And tTom Kingue's rap is just IT!

Tilla - Girls
The "indie" tunes at the beginning of this track.."First of check us all ma backside. whatt..E day like mountain..damn" "This one's for my school girls, pay attention in class and read your book well". "Di one for ma nga dem. for ma repe dem. For the youth dem. For the girls way dem check say...."This is great song to empowerment song for girls!! "Bomboclatttt"...Tilla can rappp ehhh..

Tokee Lala - Pack Fine
If you have seen her debut promo pictures  (by William Nsai) on her facebook page then you know she is a breath of fresh air...The latest artist on my promo radar is Tokee Lala and her single #Packfine produced SlimBeatz has interesting lyrics and catchy and danceable beats.

Zinnia - Run
OK Zinnia just brings something different to the Camer music scene. First off her promo shots Wowed me..And her music?  A blend of afrobeats, jazz, makossa, pop??  "I go run run run..I go run soteyyyy"

And the  Playlist....

THE BETTER BREED CHALLENGE: #IAMTHECHANGE #IAMTHEBETTERBREED

Hello people..it's a new year and in the spirit of spreading good cheers, I am taking up the better breed challenge.

"While all of that would be considerable change, we at Better Breed believe change begins from within. It is a decision. A decision not to give up on your country despite the problems, a decision not to pay bribe, nor ask for it. A decision not to litter the roads, a decision not to blame the government for everything, nut take some of the responsibility yourself. Don’t get it wrong, our leaders owe us a great deal and have undoubtedly failed us in much. But have you thought of how many times we have failed ourselves and our own country?"

  1. Think of what you can do as an individual that would make even the littlest corner our country better.
  2. Take a photo of yourself holding a message of what your positive action will be and the hash-tags: #IamtheChange #IamtheBetterBreed
  3. Share the photo on OUR Facebook page, on YOUR Facebook Page and generally on all the groups and pages you can…
Read more about the challenge here:https://betterbreedcameroon.wordpress.com/2015/01/07/a-better-breed-resolution/

About Better Breed Cameroon

Better Breed Cameroon is a Youth Association founded in January 2014 by Monique Kwachou on the perceived need for greater and better investment in Cameroonian youth; their development and empowerment. Better Better believes rather than criticizing those we have in power today and the currently practiced vices in our society, we ought to solve the problem from the roots by rearing a young generation which would do better as leaders and citizens when the time comes. To us the truest form of sustainable development is youth development. We are based in Buea, in the Southwest Region of Cameroon, from where we carry out our ideas and projects in youth development and empowerment.

GIVING BACK: THE MISSY BK FOUNDATION LAUNCHES IN CAMEROON WITH THE GIFT OF EDUCATION TO FIVE ORPHANS

THE AWARD WINNING AFRO POP SINGER
MISSY BK GIVES THE GIFT OF EDUCATION TO FIVE ORPHANS IN CAMEROON.

The Missy BK Foundation, launched last September 8th, is a non-profit organization which seeks to inspire and empower underprivileged children, orphans and families living in the Republic of Cameroon in Central Africa.

The Founder, Constance Bih Kimal, aka Missy BK, is a young, vibrant, multi-talented artist whose hit single “My Baby” made waves across Africa, Canada, America and Europe, airing on MTV base , RTI 2, Canal 2, STV, Boom TV,  DBSB TV, Radio stations and news papers. Included in her success story also is her 1st  single “Set Me Free” which earned her Best Female Artist of the Year in Canada at the HNSS Excellence award. She says she has always dreamed of starting a non-profit organization to help the less privileged back in her home Cameroon and she gained the confidence to do so after she became a successful performing artist.

With two hit singles under her belt and a passion for helping the less fortunate, the Afro pop artist Missy BK used money gained from her first Canadian tour to kick-start her foundation in early 2014, by giving the gift of education to five orphans selected from the Helping Hands Children’s Home Orphanage, who needed financial assistance to further their education. These students have proven that they have what it takes to reach their full potential and become key players in creating a peaceful and successful Africa. The Missy BK foundation also donated a laptop to ACCESSLE childcare learning centre situated in Yaoundé the capital of Cameroon. This laptop facilitated   the pupils and students in this institution with access to computer studies and online learning.

The Missy BK  Foundation partners with local community leaders, orphanages and educators in Cameroon to identify girls and boys who are gifted, eager to learn and financially challenged and  work to achieve sustainable impact in these communities by finding and funding hard-working students from rural areas. It’s clear to see that the root to poor education in Cameroon comes from the high rate of poverty ravaging the country. Parents especially the less privileged ones are unable to afford to pay tuition, buy text books and other school needs for their children due to the high rate of unemployment in the country. The outbreak of HIV and Aids also left many children orphans at a very young age.  This foundation provides educational support to orphans that include merit-based scholarships, annual tuition fees, uniforms, personal supplies, and food and learning materials. This basic support allows motivated students to immediately access higher quality education and set them on the track for success.

Out of her love of volunteerism, the Missy BK foundation has since continued to blossom with a lot of activities helping to uplift the Cameroonian society. After talking to Missy BK, this is what she had to say concerning her voluntary act of giving back to the society. “I give not because I have much but because I know exactly how it feels like to have nothing.”

Missy BK’s mother is an important inspiration for her philanthropy. “My mother taught me, I don’t have to wait until I have millions to start helping people, she told me it’s not how much I give but it’s the love that I put into what I give that matters and a little something given to someone could make a big difference in their lives.” Says Bk.
The foundation serves Cameroonians through three major initiatives: The Education and Sponsorship program, Supplies for School program and the Make-A-Wish program: For a child living with a life-threatening medical condition, a wish brings hope, strength and joy. The entire wish process – from the anticipation, to the wish itself, and the memories that it creates – provides a welcomed diversion for children undergoing difficult medical treatments. A wish can also be a positive experience for families in challenging times.
Missy BK is inspiring and her outlook to life is different, her humble and humanitarian acts and passion is an inspiration for many youths to follow. Which also abides with this saying“Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”- Mother Teresa
Never underestimate the difference YOU can make in the lives of others. Step forward, join the Missy BK foundation, reach out and help.
