SPOTLIGHT ON MISS BK..."MY BABY (REMIX)"

Today's Music Thursday is all about  Canadian based artist Miss BK's song and  video for "My Baby Remix"  featuring Cameroonian music icon, Annie Anzouer  released on June 24th .

What is the Song My baby all about?
My baby is the (baby song) from my upcoming album which talks about the magic and power of love..inspired from a real life story of a Heart broken girl who after a devastating heart break she decided to forgive her long term boyfriend and move on . The moment she did she realized that “Heaven doesn't ignore cries of a broken heart.”  Just like a dream, this guy who swept her off her feet and showed her what it meant to love and to be loved. This girl describes her feelings for  the new guy with words like  " E bi like say na voodoo e di use" It was a magical experience for her and she fell head over heels.

What is the message behind the song?
My baby song passes the message that it’s not the intensity of the love that we feel for someone that makes  our love last but the quality of the person we  fall in love with that makes our love  last which makes the love experience even much more special and enjoyable. The quality of love and the quality of the person you fall in love with can determine the end of the relationship.

Annie Anzouer is one  Cameroon's music icon and a great talent of the older generation,  Why did you choose to feature her in this song?
Growing up I loved music and had people in the industry that I admired and wanted to be just like them or more. Annie Anzouer happened to be one of the Cameroonian based artist and Music icon I admired and listened to back in my childhood days. I told myself that if I ever want to collaborate with a home based star then she will be the first on my list and it happened just like that. When Annie came to  Montreal, Canada for a concert by SPN production, I received her at the airport. I had a chance to sit with her in my car and she listened to my complete album. When she came across the "my baby" song, she asked me to pause and ."that’s the song, that’s the hit , I will like to sing on it " and I gladly said "Mama Annie it will be an honor to have you sing on this song".  We went to the studio and recorded the song at Mich 2050 production house in Montreal  and here we are…

Why another video for the same song?
Good question. After sharing this experience with Annie, I decided it was good if I could as well share the same good feeling and vibe we shared together in this song to the world and this could be well portrayed in a video format Which I thank my relentless and reliable team for making this journey easier for me to travel.

What is the inspiration behind your upcoming Album
It’s a fusion of upbeat rhythms with a feel of  Afro pop,  afro zouk-highlife and afro Rnb feeling. Everyone, young or old will enjoy something out of it. the songs a melodious, inviting, catchy and the story lines connect to our life stories and experiences.

Any collaboration in the album?
Ooooh yes this is the fun part .It features my two beautiful daughters, Mandy hill and Serena hill, Meiway , Annie Anzouer , the born Canadian/Haitian  artist Ish and the Canadian/Italian pop Singer Nadia Dolce.
What are the five things you cant live without?
God, my children, my family music, music and music again.

If  I was to turn on your ipod right now what five artist would you have played recently?
Tony Braxton, Yemi Alade, Brackets , Missy bk and Tiwa savage

Apart from music what do you like to do?
I have a big passion in volunteering, taking care of other people in need.
I love fashion and design as well and I’m slowing getting more into dancing now
Which I intend to make something good out of that.

Here is video...Enjoy!

Thumbs up Miss BK..Love the video. Looking forward to the album.

STANLEY ENOW WINS #MAMA2014 AWARD FOR BEST NEW ACT

Hello people. It's just the first match so Camers please chill (lol).

...And the MAMA for Best New Act 2014 goes to.....

Here is the official press release

It was a star studded affair at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) 2014 in Durban, South Africa last
Saturday as many tuned in to watch their favourite stars representing their countries and their part of the
continent celebrated with the prestigious MAMA award.

In Cameroon this was no different as many watched on screen ready to witness the victory of our prodigal
son Stanley Enow. Amidst surprises, Stanley Enow clinched Best New Act in Durban marking a historical
point in his career and setting the tone for many other artists to follow. He also celebrated becoming the
first ever Cameroon based artist to get a verified Twitter account thus sealing his “celebrity” status.
“Hey world, at this point in time I’m still dreaming, please lemme wake up” stated Enow following his
dreamy triumph in Durban.

The Samsung ambassador’s initial nomination on the Best New Act category made headlines seeming almost impossible for him to bring the MAMA home as he had 2 tough contenders in Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Phyno but through resilience, determination and a rigorous daily voting campaign strategy with support from fans and other artists from afar and wide, it was proven that  "l’impossible n’est pas
Camerounais"

Breaking records is becoming more of a habit for our starboy as this week his Tumbuboss (Deluxe) video will air on the internationally acclaimed MTV music platform.
Watch Tumbuboss (Deluxe) video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAHaQxj2PsQ

CAMpreneur NSO DAVID & The NSO XPERIENCE

Hello people..It is already the second half of the year...Hope you are enjoying and/or planning some time out with your family and friends!
World Cup Fever is On! Football fanatics. Enjoy!Let's hope Team237 will make us proud.
Is it just me or does it seem there is a  health and fitness movement going on? Camers are focusing on their health and fitness around the globe: from Zumba, yoga, health and fitness groups, biking, trainers, coaches..You name it!

Introducing, health & fitness trainer & coach of the NsoXperience. David Nso is a National Academy Of Sports Medicine (NASM)-certified fitness trainer and health coach based in New York City. He has nearly a decade of experience training people to change their body and lifestyle.

Tell us about yourself?
I was born in Cameroon, Africa. I have always had an appreciation for discipline, learning, and athletics. Soccer was my childhood passion. Although a life in Africa may have led to a professional career in soccer, I decided to move to the US in my early twenties. I studied Biology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
As I adjusted to life in the US, I began to recognize a great discrepancy in the type of beauty promoted by celebrities on television and the typical diet of most Americans. Having grown up with African food, which is heavy and spicy yet always fresh, with no preservatives, I immediately felt the effects of processed food. To counteract the weight gain that comes with American food, I began lifting weights and educating myself about the science of nutrition.

My devotion to personal fitness and healthy diet led him to a career in modeling and acting. A role in HBO’s acclaimed series The Wire inspired me to move to New York and pursue a career on camera and onscreen.  In conjunction with modeling, I pursued my true passion: fitness. My experience with nutrition taught me that fitness is more than exercise – it’s a complete lifestyle. So the NsoXperience was born.

A strong believer in “You are what you eat,” David’s unique formula for health is 80% nutrition and 20% fitness. “You need food to build muscle,” David says. “I help my clients maximize their time in the gym by giving them the proper nutrition (and rest!) to support their body.”

What is the NsoXperience all about? About the NsoXperience the vision, mission, goals, services, etc.
My  strong believer in “You are what you eat,” My formula for health is 80% nutrition and 20% fitness. “You need food to build muscle,” David says. “I help my clients maximize their time in the gym by giving them the proper nutrition (and rest!) to support their body.” My experience with nutrition taught me that fitness is more than exercise – it’s a complete lifestyle. So the NsoXperience was born.  The people that have joined the movement have really inspired me.  People from all over the world have connected via social media to find out how to be part of the NsoXperience.  Ambassadors have sent me photos of themselves in the NsoXperience t-shirt from all over the world.  My goal is to be in every continent.

What is the story behind the NsoXperience. When & How did it all start?
NsoXperience is a lifestyle that represents healthy living. It's about improving people's lives, from the inside-out through FITNESS. My inspiration came from being a Personal Trainer. I've come across all kinds of people from different walks of life. So I asked myself: "What can I add on to motivate my clients and the general public?" Not just fitness also making the World healthier one person at a time through awareness.

Tell us a bit more about your services?
I provide full service training in various settings such as: 1-on-1, doubles, small groups (5-10), and am starting to provide workout templates.  I have a lot of NsoX Ambassadors that are not located in New York City, but still seek my expertise.  I provide nutrition tips to all of my clients.  Some of my clients follow a strict regimen of following meal schedules, while others just need a little motivation to follow the healthy lifestyle.  I can customize plans to fit any lifestyle and help achieve fitness goals.  The ideal strategy is to tackle both fitness and nutrition in tandem.  Remember, its 80% nutrition + 20% fitness = 100% success

Your Motivation & Inspiration to start?
My own motivation has been since from childhood. I love interacting with people and making them feel better about themselves. This brings out the passion I have for fitness, which is why I created my own brand: NsoXperience.

How has the response been so far?
Words can't describe the response I've had since I created this #GetUpAndMove initiative powered by NsoXperience. I have NsoXperience clients in 6 countries right now.

As a Fitness trainer, what the most common health issues that you come across...And how to you advice to handle them?
Some clients who want a quick result without putting in the work. That’s why a fitness assessment is very important before you design any workout plan. I get to explain the different phases towards achieving your ultimate goal. Knowing the process will help the client's mindset for the journey ahead. Not just achieving your short term goals, but make a lifestyle habit for the rest of your life.

What are some of the challenges you have faced and how have you overcome them?
In life, we all face challenges every day, respective to what you do in life. I take all challenges as a learning curve and I love my job. I work with all types of people every day in person or online with different fitness goals such as: weight loss, muscle gain, athletic training, etc. I approach each of those goals based on their assessments.

Tell us about any upcoming projects & plans Cameroon & Africa in general

I am always working on projects back home.  I have a few things in the works right now, but my primary focus is creating brand awareness for the NsoXperience. My homeland has a lot to do with my work. I always want to give back to my country, where we have obvious health crisis. I have great pride in my motherland, Cameroon.  Everything that I do roots back to my country.

How does one join the movement & what are the expectations?

We are making the world healthier one person at the time. You can become an NsoXperience ambassador wherever you are located.  Start by visiting my website www.nsoxperience.com, and order your NsoX T-shirt. All of my services are listed on the site.  You can also connect with me via Facebook or Instagram.  I will guide you on your fitness journey via online, or in person if you are in New York City. It's a lifestyle, not an obsession. We have to work together to achieve your goals.

Life is about perseverance.  Perseverance is the hard work you do after doing the hard work you already did. You have to live the NsoXperience by joining the #GetUpAndMove initiative.

Vreezy Ville ft Kay Zeey - Olopyto
"Baby dance olopyto, olopyto, olopy.." .This new dance worry oh...

And the Highlights of Today's M.T......

Rythymz - This is How I feel (#BringBackOurGirls)
The NO Hitz No Recordz Entertainment, dynamic duo Rythmz' single in support of the “Chibok Girls”. “This is How I Feel’ #BringBackOurGirls   joins the world in a cry to society and especially to our leaders for peace but more especially for the finding and returning of the girls kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists in North Eastern Nigeria.

The song is a touching ballad that leaves you wanting to join the worldwide movements to secure the return of our girls. “They are crying out…dem di fear…stretch your hands they need help from us…” are some of the powerful lyrics in the song. The world is now a global village, “…we cannot be at the battle frontlines, but what we can do is spread the word through music to encourage the world to not relent in our efforts to “calling all the leaders to #BringBackOurGirls

"We cannot sit back and let “Les Filles Africaines, …Belles Filles, aspiring, educated…” get taken away. We hope that this song moves more people into putting pressure so that our girls can be brought back home safe"

Steveslil - Diana

Steveslil has the killer instinct to enter into the hall of fame of reputable urban music acts in Africa. His musical prowess and versatility to effortless switch from one genre to another is breathtaking . After releasing a phenomenal single "Ebangha" , the Cameroonian sultry R&B/Afro-pop songster has gamely resurfaced with a life-enhancing love and marriage story incorporated in a soul-searching song titled "Diana" .

He describes "Diana" as a musical marriage between post- independence highlife music and contemporary Afro-pop harmony. In essence, "Diana" embodies the traditional harmonic rhythm which could be dubbed "Palm wine music" , married with western instruments. "Diana" incarnates the folkloric tone popularly chanted during the post-independence era.

The song is an expression of love and appreciation to God (Eta Mandem , thank you ...) for giving a beautiful wife who deserves all the sacrifices a man can make give , just to make her happy; "na with you I go fly , America, Europe, Africa , to Asia coz you be my baby" . Steveslil's vocal timbre and delivery perfectly gives the groove the song deserves. The song was produced by the legendary Emil Ngumbah.

"Ahhh Diana Ohhh. Diana Ohh..."

OK people... It is almost the weekend!Enjoy the music...

THE ONE DAY MOVEMENT. #ONEDAYPOSE

In the last couple of weeks, media sites have been trending with hashtags of #Oneday with picture messages bearing the #Oneday message.

Similar the #Nomakeupselfie for cancer,  the OneDaymovement is a campaign to create awareness to every dreamer, giving them a powerful message of Hope. Brain child of Nabil Fongod popularly known as Nabil4real,  the  one finger pose symbolises determination, reassurance and a strong believe that ONEDAY, we shall all realize our dreams.

The world has a lot of talented people, many of whom go unnoticed especially in Cameroon. This is mainly due to lack of opportunities to showcase their talents.

Beyond the pictures and social media buzz, the vision for the movement is  the dreams of someone a reality! The movement which was created this May has drawn over 1000 pictures from supporters across the globe. This goes to show how much people love and relate with hopeful messages.
With the sudden growth of the #OneDayMovement, Nabil has had the privilege of displaying pictures of #OneDay poses in the prestigious Stadelejik Art Museum in Belgium.

Nabil maintains persistence, determination and hard work throughout his musical career and has a strong feeling that OneDay, the world would get to experience his talent.

Whatever you are facing or going through in life, this is a message of hope for you knowing a better tomorrow is ahead.

OK people...Support the  growing movement by

- Posting your OneDayPose picture on Facebook and on the OneDayPose page

- Tweet #Oneday #OneDayMovement #OneDayPose  and invite your friends and family to join the movement.

MEET CAMpreneur MADELLE KANGHA OF YOUTHS4CHANGE

Camers are Repin'  around the globe and it is my pleasure to profile a young lady on a mission!!

Meet CAMpreneur, Madelle Kangha, the founder of Youths4Change, a movement which mentors and empowers youth of all abilities across Cameroon. Madelle is also the Co-Founder and President of Jumpstart Academy Africa, a social impact venture which cultivates leaders and entrepreneurs.
Madelle is a Frontier Markets Scout with the Monterey Institute of International Studies, an Ambassador of One Young World, an Affiliate of the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance and a member of several global communities such as the Clinton Global Initiative University, Ashoka Changemakers and the Global Shapers Douala Hub of the World Economic Forum.

Tell us about yourself
I attended Our Lady of Lourdes College for both secondary and high school (2001-2008) where I served as House Captain and Assistant Senior Prefect respectively. The latter earned me a prize for “Prefect of the year” in my last year of high school.  Thus I guess I have always had a knack for leadership. I actually used to muse about becoming the first female president of Cameroon someday – and I still do by the way.
One of my most cherished moments from my Lourdes days was when I emerged as the best national female candidate at the Cameroonian GCE Examinations.  Subsequently, I won a place/scholarship as 1 of 2 Cameroonians and 94 other young people around the world to join the inaugural class at the African Leadership Academy (ALA) in South Africa and that is where I believe my leadership & entrepreneurial journey begun.

How did your journey continue after the African Leadership Academy?
After ALA, With my sights set on the very best of educational opportunities I obtained admission to the London School of Economics(LSE) and won a full scholarship awarded once every 3 years to 1 student from Sub-Saharan Africa. At LSE I studied a Dual degree in Law and Anthropology which has been invaluable given that interdisciplinary studies are much needed in today’s interconnected world. Upon graduating fro
m LSE in 2012, I decided to start Youths4Change which opened a new chapter for me.

Where did the inspiration to start Youths4Change come from?
My inspiration for Youths4Change is best reflected by the quote: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” Magaret Mead
I believe in young people finding their voice through socio-economic empowerment and political participation.

And I firmly belief in the power of possibility.Nothing has ever fazed me even as a kid (my surname Kangha actually means “go getter” so I guess there’s a correlation). I always have a “can do” attitude even when the odds are against me and my parents & family always encourage and believe in me.

Tell us more about the vision & activities of Youths4Change
Youths4Change has grown into a movement which mentors and empowers youth of all abilities across Cameroon. Our mission is to cultivate the next generation of Cameroonian youth who are passionate and committed to creating lasting positive change.
Our flagship project - ENVISION is based on the premise that all youths deserve equal access to opportunities. ENVISION was launched to assist disabled youths in Cameroon to go to school and earn livelihoods. Our work has impacted over 250 disabled youth so far.

And your  latest venture Jumpstart Academy Africa?
Jumpstart Academy is a for impact venture which currently works across Cameroon and Nigeria with the goal of scaling out to the rest of the African continent. Our mission is to create a wave of entrepreneurial leaders by pioneering a world class Leadership and Entrepreneurship curriculum across institutions of learning.  Our vision is to cultivate ethical leaders and entrepreneurs across Africa.

Do you find that your age helps, hinders or doesn’t affect you being successful?
I believe being young is no excuse or barrier. In fact, being young is an advantage(that doesn’t mean it’s ever too late to pursue your dreams).
Now is the time to make mistakes and try new things and to dare greatly. This is probably the most creative point in your life, so now is your chance. The older you get, the harder it will be to not think about work, monthly payments, career and family.
The world is your oyster and the world is ready for you.
Make a mark. Make a stain. Make something.
Stand up and be counted and leave a legacy while you are at it!!!

What is next for Youths4Change?
Over the next year, we will be introducing exciting new initiatives that will bring us closer to our vision - to create a wind of positive change across Cameroon. So stay tuned!
Even more exciting is our campaign we just launched thanks to our partners at the World We Want Foundation - http://theworldwewantfoundation.org/projects/envision. Please be sure to support us and spread the word!

“Setting the sky as your limit is overrated - Set the sky as your base! For in doing so, you soar to new heights and define the boundaries of what is possible.” Madelle Kangha
