Following the release of its print version last October, IAM, the first platform dedicated to women in art from Africa and its Diaspora, launches its n° 1 edition of:
AN EVENT DEDICATED TO ART AND FASHION
True to its editorial line, the platform has chosen to celebrate the Cameroonian artistic scene by organizing in Douala, Cameroon, a series of events related to art and fashion with a main focus on the first-time exhibition of works by artists initially featured in its print edition. The contemporary art gallery MAM, located in the heart of Douala, will host the show from October 2 to 9, 2015.
IAM ART & FASHION EXHIBITION – from October 2 to 9 at MAM Gallery: rue Tobie Kuoh, Douala, Bonanjo.
Group and multidisciplinary exhibition: painting, photography and sculpture presenting the works of 11 visual artists born or living in Cameroon. Among them: Kristine Tsala, Aza Mansongi, Ginette Daleu, Sarah Tchouatcha, Ruth Belinga, Justine Gaga, Angèle Etoundi Essamba, Boris Nzebo, Hervé Yamguen, Romuald Dikoumé…
Special guest: Barthélémy Toguo – artist and founder of the art center Bandjoun Station. For IAM ART & FASHION, Barthélémy Toguo has created a unique artwork, which will be presented for the first time during the exhibition opening (date and place available soon and by invitation only).
Inside the gallery, a space has been designed to highlight the projects of young talents of the Cameroonian fashion scene: Florence Amanoga Ouloumou, Yapumfout Pasma, Nakuin, Anrette Ngafor and Yves Tchinda.
These unique projects have been conducted in partnership with local professionals such as Anna Ngann Yonn (founder of the label Kreyann’), Yves Eya’a (director of the Centre des Créateurs de Mode du Cameroun), with the support of the Jean-Félicien Gacha foundation, the Centre des Créateurs de la Mode du Cameroun, and under the highpatronage of the Vlisco Group.
RENCONTRES FASHION – on October 2 at MAM Gallery: talks, round tables and presentations relating to the Cameroonian and African fashion scenes. Detail of the day available in the upcoming program. Participation upon registration within the limit of the number of places available.
RENCONTRES ART – on October 4 and 5 at MAM Gallery : talks, round tables and workshops (portfolio review, etc.) focusing on the contemporary artistic scene in Cameroon and in Africa. Detail of the two days available in the upcoming program. Participation upon registration within the limit of the number of places available.
SPEAKERS – professionals of the art and fashion worlds, the speakers all have in common one same true passion for the artistic creation as well as the wish to share their expertise and experiences.

NUIT BLANCHE À DOUALA – on October 3, late night at MAM Gallery during the Nuit Blanche program of the Institut français of Douala. On this occasion, the gallery has planned a musical set with singer Adango. The exhibition IAM
ART & FASHION will be open to all from 11.00 AM to 11.00PM.
