CONVENTION BUZZ:IT'S HAPPENING IN CHICAGO..THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!!!

In the Spirit of "Wir Dze Wir Bii Wir" (BFU's mantra)... translation... "A person is who he/she is because of people"....basically "No man is an Island"..You are what you are because of others!!!My lamnso translating skills are not that bad..lol! Ok...proper translation..."Who you are is a reflection of those around you"

Convention Highlights

I got really excited after reading insider info about the convention posted on FB by BFU's Organizing Secretary, Tarbinlam Lafon.

" Friday, July 24th (Night):
Oi! This is my best night. Let's see what the scoop said...
- Traditional dances (ah, I can feel my head bopping already)
- Short Cultural Play (Huh? On the Nso Marriage Ceremony? Wow.... I wonder who's paying the dowry!)
- Poetry!! (Poetry? Poetry? Our country people do poetry? Hm, interesting. In what language? Oku, Noni, Nso?)
- Special artist performance (Who? I want know who! Now! I can't wait till the convention!)
- Fashion Parade by the BFU-Youth (This Youth again... wow! Can't wait to see it! Bui culture designs? African designs? What's cooking?)
- BFU-USA testimonies (Testimonies? Ah... they said something like the scholarship recipients would say how the scholarship has helped them. Hmm... our $$ at work!)
... and much more!"

BUI???

Bui Division is in the North West Province (I guess now Region) of Cameroon.

Bui is divided administratively into 7 subdivisions: Elak-Oku, Jakiri, Kumbo (Urban), Kumbo (Rural), Mbiame, Nkum & Nkor
